Trip to England

Page 11

Saturday neither of us really wanted to get up so we didn't. Around 3:00pm or so, Mason, another housemate, came back with Josh's bag which had just been delivered to the house. Inside, everything was there along with a slip stating that the bag had been searched by the TSA. Maybe that was why we didn't get it on time, either that or it was searched because it was left behind at JFK. We don't know, we're just happy to get it back. That's two trips with two "lost" bags. (I didn't get my luggage on my trip back to LA from Ohio in June. It sat on the tarmac in Vegas due to the short time span between flights. There wasn't enough time to get it off one plane and onto another. It showed up eventually.)

After it all ended, we both agree that the reason we went to London was for Josh to have surgery, which was a smashing success. He's all healed up and back to swinging swords and himself around. I'm back in my regular office with all of my completely operational office machines. My work load appears to have increased substantially, which is good: time to make back the money spent across the pond.

We'd like to try England again sometime and would definitely go back to Blackpool and visit Dave, Joanie and Karl. We'll plan the trip instead of going on a whim and hopefully the second time will be better.

Here are some more pictures of the trip....

Steve and Toffee enjoying the late afternoon sun in outside the Hotel Belvedere in Blackpool, UK.

Meat pie selection in an open air market in Blackpool. Tasty Yummies!

Shopping alley, one of many, in the touristy area of Blackpool.

Picturesque phone booths and post office, Blackpool.

If anyone is interested, the truth about 9/11 is in Blackpool right next to Happy Dayz.

This was the manufacturer of the elevator, or lift, that we took at the Stratford Tube stop. The whole thing is funny: Porn and Dunwoody. Well, I would say so!

I have to say that this sign struck me as interesting: EXTREMELY creative food and beverage...I was curious but alas it was not to be sated. They were closed.

I have no idea what this building is currently used for but its architecture is amazing!
One would hope. What kind of party would it be with no people?
